Vision Quest Logo Design

I need a logo designed. A family member of mine is starting a side business and needs a logo. He is currently designing one himself but I think as a Christmas gift he may like one professionally designed. I know his current design involves a tree and an arrow. I image that they are stylized. Here is some information about the business and it's owner. He is a pretty philosophical dude who is into learning about coexisting with natural, survivalism, animal tracking,bow hunting, bow making, and Eastern/Native American philosophy. His business will be to guide groups of people on vision quests where they fast for 4 days in the woods while doing nothing. My understanding is that the point is to be alone with one's mind. I think it is like this place [login to view URL] . Some quick google searching suggests that hickory, ash and white oak trees may be good for bow making. The white oak has an impressive silhouette and their old age might make for a decent symbol of natural wisdom. I imagine him using this logo on Facebook, business cards, and maybe blown up on the back of a long sleeve shirt. I would like have this project occur in two stages. First stage is that I get a first design. This will be the gift I present him with. Then I will allow him to access my account so he has the opportunity to offer suggestions for a second iteration on the logo design. There will be payment at the end of each stages.
