An excel spreadsheet needs to be developed with advanced VBA, macro and userforms.
1- The user will interact with a multi tab userform to fill, view, modify, add, delete, and print equipment specifications, without any interaction with excel sheets
2- There will be a sheet with data in the background ... looking at about 100 columns, and flexible number of rows (to be added or removed by the user - there is an initial list with 300 row items in it, however the developer is expected to add 10 items only, to prove that the system works, and the user will add the rest of rows). The rows are equipment numbers, and the columns are specifications for each equipment.
3- The system will work in following order:
- Once developed, the file will have ~100 columns with specifications loaded.
- The user will open the excel file - a multi tab userform will open - The user will not see the background data / sheets
- There will be a "Search - drop down" menu (like an interactive phone book - or like google search) to find the equipment number (which will be listed in column A) and pull the data from the corresponding row - The user should have the option to add an equipment if it is not found - Adding an equipment will add a row to the database - Removing an equipment will delete a row from the database - editing a row will edit a row in database
- Once the user selects the equipment they need, the latest information saved in the database will be displayed for each specification (from the columns) - Some of the information will be checkboxes (boolean), some will be text and some will be numbers
- The user will be able to modify the information and update the data in database, which will be saved as the latest version and will be displayed when the userform is opened in future - The whole idea of this tool is to keep the latest data available, and provide the user with an output.
- Once the user is satisfied with the information, they will be able to click a box and save the file as pdf in a specified folder, or print it directly.
- pdf extract will include all information in a nicely formatted sheet , and will have the option to attach other "pdf, word, jpg, excel" files to be printed together with the printout - This option is required for the user to be able to browse, select a file from a directory, and include it in printout.
- The file will be saved.
4- Some of the features that will be required for the system:
- Drop downs, checkboxes, text boxes
- Cascade checkboxes

This is a straightforward task that I can do with ease, and deliver fully tested.
However I would question if Excel is the correct tool. I have build numerous similar systems and my experience is Ms Access is far better for this, forms give a better user experience and your data model will be far more robust in Access. Drop me a mail for more info if you want, even if I don't win this bid, or I can produce a sample example in access, with limited capability if you would like to see what I mean, with a view to developing in access for same cost.

My name is shantna. Presently, I am an engeenering student.I have worked previously on data entry work for one month .I am having some experience in data entry work and I am having enough time to complete your project on time.
I have done similar projects in the past. It was a directory with more than 100 columns and many rows. I have below comments and clarifications needed
1. I can have the userform as a sheet itself with buttons, checkboxes added to the sheet directly, if acceptable. This will be more robust and more easy to edit in future. But if you need pop out userform we can do that as well.
2. I have not considered data validations for new or edited data. That works would cost extra depending on qty and complexity of the requirements.
3. When user searches for existing data, will he need only one box? Should the program look for a match in any specified column or all the columns?
4. When the user prints, will he be printing all the specification of a single selected machine, which I think will be the case or will be printing the full database?
5. When you say user wants to add additional data, is not very clear. One file or multiple files? Attached or appended? How the user will specify it?
If I had to say 1 reason to hire me over the others it would be that I make a good product, and I support my products. To complete the project in 3 days I would need a weekend, a sample PDF or excel of the report, the printer names, file locations and know how your pcs settings are set up in the office. Im not clear on why you need a multi tab form. You can do this in excel, but I would recommend access as the forms are much nicer. Please contact if your interested.
