I have a ~5000 data entries in an excel spreadsheet. Each entry is a reservation for a product which is defined by the "EntityID". Each entry also has "OrderDate", and "StartDate" and "End Date".
Based off this historical data, I would like to create an algorithm that makes a prediction whether a requested product is available given today's date, and a future start date/end date.
The expected inputs to the function will be the following:
1) entityID
2) Today's date
3) Future start date
4) Future end date.
The expected output required will be
1) Confidence %(100-0)
2) The number of days in advance of start which will achieve a 95% confidence rating or more.
IMPORTANT: I will be programming your prediction model into a system(Python or Javascript, not sure which). You don't need to do any programming, but I will need to interpret your functions or VB code. So either comment your code, or write notes in the table on how it works. This is essential.
