I'm running a bid/rfp and I need assistance getting information processed and analyzed efficiently. I will have approximately 100 suppliers providing pricing on approximately 2000 unique items. I want to be able to rank, sort and analyze this data efficiently. I've written some Excel formulas that can get me part of the way there, but they are very cumbersome and often crash my computer. I need a better way to do this.
An example of the data I will be receiving is in the spreadsheet named "All Carrier Bids". The columns might move or be renamed and be slightly different, but it gives you a very good sense of the information I will have. This will be the source of the analysis. I think the only adjustment I would have to make to this is that I would rank a rank of low cost to high cost (column W) for each lane ID (column D).
The other spreadsheet I have is what I would like the analysis output to look like. It would have each unique lane ID from the previous spreadsheet and the detail for that lane ID (blue column headings) from the "All Carrier Bids" file. The information I would like to automate has the gray column headings. A definition of each is:
Number of bids: unique bidders (column C, SCAC) for each lane
Number of outliers: TBD
Lowest bid: the lowest Linehaul Cost per Shipment (column X) for each lane ID
First quartile bid: average Linehaul Cost per Shipment (column X) for the lowest 25% of bids in that lane ID
Median bid: median Linehaul Cost per Shipment (column X) for each lane ID
Average bid: average Linehaul Cost per Shipment (column X) for each lane ID
Carrier with lowest bid: Carrier (column A) with the lowest bid on each lane ID
Carrier with second lowest, third lowest: Same as above
Lowest bid: lowest Linehaul Cost per Shipment (column X) for each lane ID
Rank 2, 3, etc: Same as above
And then all of the Carriers (column A) that bid on that particular lane in a column across the spreadsheet.
