Vehicle Redistribution in the system

Objective: Optimization of the distribution of Mobility on Demand vehicles in the network with the motive of saving energy and avoiding empty runs or loss of trips

Empty vehicles will be routed to suitable areas according to the current and predicted demand

Empty vehicles which need to be charged or require maintenance will go back to the holding areas (Holding areas still need to be defined in the network)

The simulation will tell us how many holding areas will be needed and where they have to be located, based on the fleet size.

The simulation should be run with different fleet sizes and demand levels and the results should be analyzed based on the KPIs after implementing an algorithm for redistribution and then the most optimal fleet size and fleet composition should be identified. The results obtained with and without the implementation of the algorithm can be compared.
