We need a simple, custom programmed, web CMS, written in Visual

Basic, to run under Windows 2K3 Server.

Software Versions:

Windows Server 2003 (Web Ed), with IIS 6.0

SQLServer Express Edition 2005

ASP.NET 2.0

For a proficient ASP programmer, this should be a quick job,

using common CMS elements and procedures throughout. Text forms

are "plain" (no Rich Text). Images need not be processed, just

stored. I already made all HTML layouts and templates, you just

have to code. I see this job certainly at the lower end of the

budget range!

Here is an outline of the requirements:

---------------------------------------

The system will consist of two main modules: Editor and Display.

Editor module: The Editor is used to create and review content, and

store it in a database, with the current timestamp (date of creation),

and flags indicating content type, content language and public

visibility. With the content, Images and PDF files may be uploaded;

these files are stored in the file system of the web server;

the database will hold only the file locations. There are four

types of content. For each type, there will be a unique entry

form and a unique verification (layout preview) screen.

Display module: The Display module uses HTML templates to output the

stored content. It is able to filter content by Content type,

language, visibility, and to sort content by date.

Content structure: There are four types of content. These

are News article, News digest, File, Job offer. All content

is stored in the same way, only a flag indicates its type.

Content can be entered in one of two languages (English and

German).

#1. News articles consist of: Headline, Introductory text, Body text,

and a variable number of Web links with description, PDF documents

with description, and images with description.

#2. News digests consist of: Headline, Introductory text, Body text,

and a variable number of News articles (i.e., references to content of

type #1).

#3. Files consist of: One image with description and a variable number

of PDF documents with description.

#4. Job offers consist of: Headline, task description, applicant's

profile, job offer, address.

Form and content encoding will be ISO-8859-1.

All labels and messages must be loaded from a language file, so

we can later switch between an English and a German user interface.

A full specification is available, including data dictionary, ERD and

use cases. It is written in English.

Your profile:

-------------

You should have an outstanding track record of

working with VB / ASP.NET / SQL Server. You produce thoughtfully

written code, including race-free file and directory access,

thorough checking of user-generated data and meaningful error

messages.

With your bid, I would appreciate a code sample (VB class or

function), written by you, by personal mail.

I look forward to receiving your bid!
