When you have your own spa, one of the things you would want to consider is the source of heating. You may want to choose between a gas spa heater and the electric spa heater. Because you want to get which one will serve your interest well, let us make a simple comparison of the initial cost, operating cost, safety, and others. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of each type of spa heater.
Gas Spa Heaters.
PROS
1. Using natural gas in spa heater offers low operating cost.
2. It can heat the spa water faster.
3. Better to use in large spas that are situated in places with colder climate.
CONS
1. Initial cost is higher, as the gas spa heater would need a gas line that connects it to the gas meter.
2. Accident prone. With waste gases and gas leaks, gas spa heaters can cause fire.
3. Can only be installed outdoors, in free and unenclosed space, instead of under a portable spa.
Electric Spa Heaters.
PROS
1. Operating it is less expensive, especially when it is covered, well insulated, and in a mild climate.
2. Initial cost is lower, as there is no gas line to install.
3. Cost of electric spa repair is also lower because of simple design.
