Get delay between Swipes

I am building a react-native application that uses the same mechanics as tinder except I have been held up on one important issue. I make a firebase call to check data but my I swipe too fast for this too register. I am using react-native-deck-swiper. I need you too give me a solution to delaying each swipe by 2 seconds. Speed is preferred as I am reaching a deadline. Needs to work on both ios and android
