This project is to make small improvements to an existing program, which was created by a coder on RAC. It is a desktop RSS feed/scroller program which uses Adobe AIR. You can download and run the program in the attachment to get an idea of the project. Description of part which is ALREADY built: The program which we need to add features to is the a scrolling custom news feed which runs across the bottom of your screen just like it does on your TV news. News will scroll across the screen from the customized sources which the user picks, with each piece of news being hyperlinked to that piece of news. Please download and run the program while reading this job description, it wil make it much clearerer. Job Description: This job requires to make some small improvements to the existing software I will provide the source code for you. They are: 1. Bugs from old version - favicon not always streaming in on Mac version, facebook thumbnail pictures not coming in all the time. Features for new version. 1. I'd like the ability to publish content myself to the user's stream. (most likley pre hardcode an rss feed which the user cannot see or edit through which we can post so that it will appear in the stream? Open to suggestions on how to implement this) 2. Ability for users to publish to other's feeds. (Create another feed bar for personal messages) - For example if three computers were running the program A, B, and C, - I would like users to be able to publish from computer A and the content would be viewable on, A, and B's feed, but not on computer C's feed. 3. Analytics of How many are downloaded, open, and how many impressions of each RSS feed. 4. Include more facebook content in feed - not just status updates, but whatever content we are allowed to pull.
