Build a Website

Build a social network that is tightly focussed around a single topic associated with travel, and has the ability to scale into other similar verticals if it\'s successful. To date, we have been thinking of building on one of the open source platforms, either Wordpress, Joomla or Drupal. We like the fact that Wordpress is likely to have a lot of functionality available and ready to use, but we also like the ability to customise Drupal and how scalable it is. However, we are open to suggestions for other platforms if they fit the requirements. The key content types that we want to have on the site are as follows: profile (ie, user profile) event (a future trip that a user is planning) destination (ie, a ski mountain) trip (a trip that a user has been on) challenge (a challenge that admin has set for users to take on) business (ie, a hotel or restaurant that is located in a destination) article (editorial content consisting of text, images, video that is produced by editors, not users) gallery (a series of images and or videos uploaded by users or editors) group (a number of users that have the ability to communicate between themselves) sport (ie, skiing, cycling, triathlon, golf, running etc) Attached is a spreadsheet that outlines the key features that we would need built into the site. We have a much larger backlog of features and ideas, but these are the main ones. Our aim is to get an MVP of the product live and in market early in the new year, and follow this with product enhancements over time, depending on what the website users want and need. As such, a key consideration in chosing who to work with on this project is the ability to form a long term partnership and work together on a great solution.
