this app is a supermarket price comparisons application for mobile phones which also allows customers to scan the items they are putting into their physical trolley and compare prices against competition and notify them of cheaper brand bargains within the current store and competitors stores aswell.
so this app has never been done in australia due to the fact that the supermarkets keep their prices in a private database and the the only place to get them is from the online stores. so the idea is to utilise their websites to allow customers to keep track of savings from previous weeks and and current price changes of items they have purchased in the past.
Ok basically this app needs to be as cross platform as possible (WP8, Android & iOS) and needs to be able to pull prices off the following websites:

so there will be a fair bit of scripting to pull these items off the website lists as well as geographically located stores by post code to access the local prices for the local store as the actual databases are are not allowed to be accessed by the public we need to be able to utilise the store prices.
the app needs to be able to use the camera for scanning barcodes so users can add custom specials they have found as well as a profile for each user with some kind of points system for the savings they have made or recommendations they have for other users.
at a later point we will approach smaller places like butchers and grocers to compete against the major supermarket chains. also another possibility is to have an electronic check out system for the superchains. a database for smaller stores to update their prices will also need to be developed.
this is a big job and wont be easy as such but myself and co developer will be working with you on this project at you current rate?
