Academic/Trade Journal/Web Researcher

The context for this project is I am in the process of positioning myself as the expert on the impact of Private Labels/Store Brands on fresh fruit and vegetable sales, packaging and branding. As a result, I need to find and be able to cite and speak about the latest research on this subject. I need someone with excellent research skills (secondary only, no primary research required) who can: (1) Source, assess, prioritise and compile academic research, trade journal articles, trade/scholarly reports and ‘expert’ presentations (ppt) on the topic of Private Labelling/Store Branding for fresh produce/fresh fruits and vegetables. This research needs to cover this subject in depth, including the impact of store branding on fresh produce sales (positive or negative) and on packaging/branding requirements and any impact on suppliers. I am looking for global research on the subject, with particular interest in Europe, USA, S Africa, Australia and New Zealand. (2) As part of the above research, my secondary interest is in any source that compares/contrasts Store Label fresh fruit and veg with Store label food/grocery product sales. Has store labelling of fresh fruit and veg worked as successfully as food or grocery products in general? I am happy to review up to 10 research reports/articles in this area as it is a subject I will likely need more information on in a Stage 2 project. (3) As part of this research, you also need to provide me with a list of the leading researchers or ‘experts’ who lead this field. This can include bloggers. Answer the question, “Who currently owns the space of being the fresh fruit/veg and store brand expert?” (3) Also as part, I would like you to identify the ‘key words’ used in this field so these tags can be used in future blogs/articles, etc. Some additional terms that might be helpful: Private Label, House Brand, Store Brand, Fresh Produce, Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, Branding, Packaging, Labelling. Some trade organisations that may also have data related to the subject include: The Private Label Manufacturers Assn (more grocery than fresh produce), the Food Marketing Institute, the Produce Marketing Assn, the United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Assn. Note: This project is not just about doing a web search and grabbing and saving 75 articles. This is about thoroughly considering the brief, doing some exploratory research to determine a plan of attack, then methodically tackling the subject from a range of angles. I am an experienced researcher myself so my standards/expectations are quite high. Please do not apply if you do not have the required skills. This is stage 1 of what are likely 3 stages of research, so there is potential for more work if the results are satisfactory. Requirements for the bidder: *Be an organised and methodical researcher. You need to be able to source, assess, prioritise then compile and present for my review the top 75 findings. This may require you to assess more than 75 documents/reports in order to present me with the most topical, recent and relevant 75. * All findings must be cited accurately as they will be used in presentations and in writing. Files (eg pdf’s, word docs sourced) must be named in an easy to identify, organised and methodical way. For example, date of research, source/journal, title of research. *A provider who has done research at an undergraduate/graduate thesis level would be helpful as an indication of sound and comprehensive research skills. * You may need to already have access to journal subscription sites like Emerald or Elsevier in order to find the type of research/articles required. * Files need to be saved as either a MS Word document or a pdf. As noted above, please use same ‘system’ for saving research so articles can be easily organised.
