This tells the reader how you will interpret the significance of the subject matter under discussion; You should keep your thesis statement central in your mind as you put your presentation together. E.g. of bad thesis statements - Lots of banks failed in the Great Depression. - I am going to discuss bank failures during the Great Depression. E.g. of good thesis statements - Bank failures were a major cause of the Great Depression. - The Great Depression was exacerbated by bank failures. 3. How your research fits into the extant literature. 4. Your findings. 5. References Everything you cite during your presentation and every paper / book which you use should be in your references. Look at how references are constructed in the *American Economic Review* or *Journal of Economic Perspectives*, and follow one of these styles.
