Beta Testing Wireless Software

We require one or two people to beta test a new Windows application for **wireless network monitoring**. Testers are required to be mobile & have the use of a portable computer, wireless network card and GPS unit. Testing must be done in an area of medium to high wireless network density such as a city, (where several different networks covering the same area).

## Deliverables

We need testing to be done on the beta version of our WirelessMon V2 application. This application is designed to monitor wireless networks and report various statistics about the networks in the area. In addition to this it can produce maps of wireless network coverage. Some screen shots of the software and a download of the V2 beta are available here,

Testing should cover several areas.

- Usability

- Stability

- Compatibility with GPS & Wireless cards

- Accuracy of data reported

- Completeness and accuracy of the included help file

The following items are required as output of the project.

1) A complete description of the hardware used during testing. Obviously the more variety of hardware used the better.

2) A wireless network coverage map and the corresponding project file. To complete this, a NMEA GPS unit and wireless PC will be required. You should state in your bid which geographical area you are planning to produce a coverage map of. e.g. South London, Central Park NY, etc..

3) A test report containing a brief overview of the testing done and results obtained. Including screenshots as required. The testing should cover the areas noted above.

4) Retesting of any corrections we implement as a result of bugs found.

5) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.

*Other notes*

We do not expect you to connect to open networks you do not control. This is illegal in some countries and is not required or expected as part of the project.

We are unlikely to accept the lowest bid and prefer someone with some track record of though software testing, who has an excellent knowledge of wireless networks.

The tester will need to supply their own hardware.
