The system to be created will work in a laptop with Two wireless devices: One in scanning mode, and the second connected to a server with a database. PCMCIA cards preferred 1. The application needs a 802.11 layer2 wireless network detector, sniffer. Something like KISMET, which is an open source program available on the net. 2. This interface must bring MAC Address of the device being scanned, using the FIRST Wireless Device, no matter device being scanned: 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g, again, just as KISMET works. KISMET also has the ability to scan devices different than access points, and returns its MAC Address 3. This MAC address must be converted into a string: IE: 08:05:FF:09:EA:88 ---> 0805FF09EA88 [login to view URL] MAC Address as string will be the parameter the system will search in a database (local or remote database), as primary key, to return other information: In Example: 0505FF09EA88 | MAKE | MODEL | COLOR | LP | STATUS So, Fields on the Database, to be created are: PK = MAC Address MAKE = String MODEL = String COLOR = String LP= String STATUS= String, Length = 2 Depending on the STATUS of the Entity, a different color must be shown on the screen of the program. When the FIRST Wireless device is scanning, must show the information of ALL the MAC addresses in the range at the moment. On the screen, must show at least 30, and have the possibility to scroll thru the whole list. I prefer the Database to be created in MySQL, but if it is another DBM system will be fine. Application must be created on an open source environment. MILESTONES are needed in this application. You can reuse KISMET code to the first part (retrieving MAC addresses). Attached you'll find an example of the screen it must show. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Open Source Environment. Must work on several O.S.
