Active Colour Fix on Buttons required, CSS changes, not displaying.

A website we are currently building has required some additional buttons to be added, we are capable of adding the buttons which we are currently doing, but for some reason when the button is active, the CSS is not working and the button is not staying an active colour, link can be provided upon request, this is a quick job for somebody who knows what they're doing.
