CakePHP sending mail thru amazon SES

Hi, We have an existing site which sends out mails thru a contact form. Very simple basically. THe site is built with CakePHP. We need to change the way it is sending the mail. It should be sending it thru the amazon SES service. This is similar to sending it thru another SMTP and someone already tried to do this using the swiftmailer code, but it is not working and we lack time to get it running. It is using an SMTP right now, but that blocks the mails sometimes. Do you have experience with CakePHP and als amazon SES? Then pls contact us for this project. THanks
