Background ********** I have two affiliate product feeds that are issued semi-regularly, I'd like to be able to display the contents of on a website, this bid is for a site design and the backend which must include the facility to import the feeds and update it again when a new feed is issued. Some initial pre-work will be required for site mock-ups and preparing the master category list that all products will import to (see below) The Feeds ******** Feed 1 is in CSV format and contains the following fields: - Name - Product URL - Image URL - Description - Price - Currency - Affiliate Network Product ID - Affiliate Network Product Category ID - Affiliate Network Category Name - Merchant Category Name* - SKU - Short Description - Promotional Text - Previous Price - Warranty - Availability - InStock - ShippingCost - DeliveryTime - Weight - Size - Brand - Model - EAN - UPC - ISBN - Condition - MPN - TechSpecs - Manufacturer - ProgramName - ProgramLogoPath - ProgramId - Fields** * Merchant Category names are of the form MasterCategory/SubCategory and this kind categorying structure (and hierarchy) should be maintained - possibly creating a category tree table first from the product feed to ensure this works? ** Fields is of the format "fieldname1:option1;option2;fieldname2:option1;option2;option3" these should be displayed as part of the description but in a user readable format e.g: Fieldname1 available in option1; option2 The field names are always specific so this should not be hard to parse and generate. Empty fields should not be shown and only those logical for customers should be shown. The category system should be based on Feed 1. Feed 2 is again in CSV format from the same affiliate network, and has Category names of: "MasterCategory | SubCategory 1 | SubCategory 2" I would like some logic to be applied to resolving the two categories so that the products are integrated when displayed on the site. Provision should be made for importing other feeds from other providers into the database and mapping them to similar categories. The PHP & MySQL *************** This MUST be good quality commented PHP, also when importing the products the products should be updated, rather than rewritten over - so after a new import the products still appear in the same place in the database with any new pricing or promotions. For SEO purposes the following format would be preferred. [login to view URL] The Site ******** The product should show in: [login to view URL] and: [login to view URL] (this may be achieved through .htaccess and ModRewrite) as appropriate, with the multiple types of sorting method (alphabtical, price etc) and should be paginated showing 10 products per page. The site must look clean and classy, message me for the existing URL which needs some serious changing but explains the clean look that is required. Milestones ********** 1 - Mock up of site to give me some idea what it will look like, this must be agreed before continuing. 2 - Definition of master category list that all products from both feeds can be applied to, and ensure that there is a way that other feeds may be added in the future in the same way. 3 - First import of both feeds and integration into site 4 - Re-importing of feeds that have differences and proof that when a product is re-imported it remains on the same URL. 5 - Upload of whole site and testing. This project is not just about completing the above, I'm looking for someone who will apply some logic to this and not need hand-holding at every step - innovation will be encouraged. (I realise the milestones make it look like I want to hand-hold but I've been burnt on rentacoder before!!). I'm also looking for a longer term working relationship with the winning bidder.
