Apple Drag and Drop Designer

The Palladium UI Designer consists of two parts: an editor and a run-time application. The first part is an application for non-programmers to create groups of windows to interact within a target environment; the design application allows users to drag-n-drop elements such as buttons, labels, sliders, and pickers onto a window canvas. The user should have complete control over the visual aspects of the items such as width, height, color, captions, etc. during the design process. In addition, some user interface elements will require the user to choose non-visual properties that are manipulated by software during simulation or run-time. These non-visual properties allow the interface elements and windows access to external devices and to limit access or control of the run-time user interface.
Projects, a collection of designed windows, are saved to an external medium so that projects may be shared or re-loaded into the designer at a later time. The saving of projects to disk forges the second part of the Palladium UI development, Palladium UIRT; this application uses the project files and settings for a run-time application where the designed windows serve as a human machine interface to monitor and control external devices.
The designer environment will run on an Apple Mac using the OS X operating system. Development should be performed using at least XCode v3.1. The target environments for the run-time implementation of designed projects will be a Mac running OS X.
