looking for an asterisk based chat / party line, where you can call in, press 1 for male, 2 for female, get assigned a passname and passcode if you are a first time caller, or retrieve if you've forgotten (retrival by telephone number callerid)...once you are signed up, you are assigned trial minutes as a new member, with the option to purchase more minutes when your trial expires using an automated credit card processing system.
once you are signed in, you can listen to other callers messages who are currently connected to the system and also send messages, and talk one on one if the callee authorizes the invitation.
looking to store the messages in ODBC/pgsql database or IMAP with the ability to record your name, a greeting and general messages for other callers who are connected to the line.
this is the jist of it. would prefer pgsql, but mysql would work too. already have asterisk server & pgsql server set up (asterisk [url removed, login to view]). asterisk 1.6 has some featuers such as Bridge() which allows you to direct connect to another caller rather than using a MeetMe or conference room (supposedly the quality is better this way?).
i'm a basic C & perl programmer and not familiar enough with the Asterisk AGI system..someone else would be able to do this a lot quicker than i can, but i can certainly help with the project. i was using festival to record my temporary greetings to get things rolling.
