Hi:
I need a simple proof of concept AIR application to test an idea. ? If it works, we'll develop it up into a full "designed" application.
Basically - it will just poll a server every N seconds to see if there's a new message waiting; if there is, display it in a scrolling box. ?
Please read the detailed specification for full requirements at this stage.
## Deliverables
Detailed Specification: 1: Main screen: Application will run as a small window with a minimum width / height. Application can be minimized to the system tray, but produce notifications of new messages. Every N seconds poll a remote URL. If the first two characters of the first line of the returned message is "OK", display the rest of the message in the window. Keep in mind we're working toward an application that looks something like Thwirl (though is not a messenger / social app etc) [login to view URL] At this stage I just want a basic proof of concept application, no fancy interface required. We will handle all server side code - feel free to specify exactly the format of the messages returned. Presumably style sheet will be embedded in the AIR app to save bandwidth.. 2: Options screen: Specify URL to poll. 3: Other Items Application should also include update framework at this stage: [login to view URL] App should test / indicate access to internet and not poll if not online (see BBC live update AIR app for more ideas) No requirement to store previous messages other than in memory. Code should be HTML / JS based (pref using jquery), not Flash. Full instructions will be required for me to compile source code for deployment.
