We require a client-server based desktop publishing system that is contains the features that are available in the popular DTP applications such as QuarkExpress, PageMaker, etc. The following features should be supported:
a. Most features of popular DTP applications (exact features to be implemented can be discussed prior to start of project)
b. Multi-codepage capable, support different languages and scripts inherently
c. Be able to save to a location on the Internet via FTP or proprietary protocol
d. Administrator control for enabling/disabling features on specific client computers/accounts
e. Audit trail of all file/data access by individual client computers/accounts
f. Individual client log-in and authentication mechanism
g. Server-based deployment and maintenance/upgrades
h. Thin-client or small-client architecture
i. Conversion to and back-conversion from PDF, Postscript, XML formats
j. Framework must support possible future Peer-to-Peer architecture
k. Optionally, support conversion to and from existing popular DTP file formats such as Quark, PageMaker, etc.
l. Any other suitable feature
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. and International Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
