Looking to create a unique WEB 2.0 style membership, information sharing, user generated, high member activity site.. Must be scalable and with great usability. .. I am not looking for a myspace or anything clone, although there will be a lot of similar features to a collection of different existing sites. + a few more features NOT listed here in order to protect specific focus of the site, but similar in concept to the above listed. The site is a place for people to contribute information in the manner I will explain to the accepted bidder. A flash tour to let people know how to use the site or make best use of site.. The use of tables should be kept to a minimum in place of cascading style sheets for layout I HAVE DESIGN MOSTLY COMPLETE - but requires some finishing touches.. preference will go to those with good feedback and FAST turnover!! MANY MANY MORE DETAILS listed in deliverables!! You must know what you are doing, and be able to read instructions - not just return to me a basic memership site scripted site! ## Deliverables Looking for a unique style member site It is because I have found that the MORE specific you can be, the better chances of Finding the right programmer.. it is NOT like Myspace.. I hesitate to show what I want since I am NOT looking for a clone. The site is basically a place for people to contribute information in the manner I will explain to the accepted bidder. It should have similar functions to include: 1)Comments allowed 2)Rate it 3)Socialize it (digg, technorati, etc.) 4)People who liked this also liked, Most popular, etc. 5)EVERY visitor should be able to view freely. You only need to be a member to contribute. Each Member should have a profile that they can put images of themselves, and include a bio about themselves- it should allow linkable text so they can include links back to their site. They should also be able to join groups 6)When a member signs up they should be allowed to select that they want to be notified by email for the following for a few features The default is that the FIRST should be clicked. They will have to unclick it. They can go into their profile later and change these settings, if they are getting too many emails. 7)Flagging submissions that are inappropriate and not in good taste. 8)Tell a FRIEND. 9)Members can upload videos / text information and other members can share, or embed URL or embed the videos or text into their site. The text that is shared should also allow linkable text 10) When members upload information, there should be category listing preloaded, and depending on which category they choose, there will be a subcategory of preloaded choices.. + a few more features NOT listed here in order to protect specific focus of the site, but similar in concept to the above listed. 3 more things I would like: 1) A flash tour to let people know how to use the site or make best use of site.. 2) Want people to be able to take what other people have contributed to the site and be able to embed it in their own site.. the unique part is that this is for text and for video, not just limited to text. If it is a text section they can also embed that section on their site. . The text to be grabbed will be in an uploaded area, similar to a video, so the text can be in that style of box if it simplifies.. 3) Want to offer the page listed below as 3rd tier.. in a format where someone could actually put a selected background (we will offer a few templates) and then email it to someone else so it can be printed.. the part different than emailing a friend or just printing the page, is that it will be in a format where it will be nice to hang on a fridge or hand out to others because of the background templates Pages required: 1) home page including logo banner + 9 illustrations depicting 9 different cateogories + tour + sign up to be notified of updates + featured + ads section 2) 2nd Tier Page where visitors can view a list of available information in that category. (depending on which category selected on the home page) - listed according to newest uploaded, or by most popular, most commented on , etc. The left menu will have a breakdown of sub categories within that category to click on - each subcategory having its own 2nd tier page like. 3) 3rd tier - visitor clicks on information they see and goes to the page where they can view the complete information. Menu still listed on the left, but dedicated mostly, sort of like a squidoo, to this information. 4) Sign up page / log in 5) Member pages 6) Sitemap 7) Admin area 8) Upload pages 9) Series of standard pages for advertising/press/contact/privacy policy/terms of service/affiliates All pages should be standards compliant and validate [login to view URL] and have a valid doctype Here is the general protocol for building this site. There is flexibilty to the order, but all the parts should definitely be in there. 1. Create a sitemap 2. Create simple wireframe 3. Develop backend engine 4. Plug backend into wireframe 5. Test 6. Replace wireframe with graphics (created concurrently) 7. Test The use of tables should be kept to a minimum in place of cascading style sheets for layout I do have a very specific idea of layout / design - not intensive on the graphics - more clean and easy on the eyes. Like flash style, without being flash My home page will be a main logo image + 9 additional smaller illustrations which will each describe via an image (and a category heading) the specific category. . At This was delayed due to other issues, so preference will go to those with good feedback and FAST turnover!! I hope to have lots of visitors, so site should be scalable and have great usability! 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law.
