This will be an amateurish 2D looking Chess game done in Macromedia Flash MX2004. The reasons for it being basic and amateur are that I really do NOT care about animation or motion tweening or sounds. Likewise, I only want the 'AI' (it can barely be called that) to be an extremely stupid random-move making opponent. The requirements are as follows and yes there is a number zero: 0) This game MUST MUST MUST compile on the specific version of Macromedia Flash MX 2004 (using Player 7.0) and the code/objects must be done with Actionscript 2.0. The data-level of the program should be written in .AS files as classes and instanciated on the stage during gameplay. 1) The human player should always be white, and the AI should always be black. 2) Neither the human or the AI should be able to make 'illegal' moves. Illegal moves mean anything not allowed by the rules of chess 3) The board display should be a simple 2D looking board that is 8 by 8. The pieces should appear appropriately as white and black. In memory/code this should be stored as an Array of Arrays. 4) Input from player is through the mouse. If the piece is theirs and the move is legal, it should be moved. If a piece is captured then it should be removed from the board and moved to the captured side. Support for castling, pawn promotion and en passant should also be inherent in the game. The pawn promotion should automatically switch the piece to a queen. 5) The AI opponent should make moves totally at random, provided they are legal moves per rules of chess and After player goes the AI should move in a similar fashion (except automatically, of course). The AI should only move its own pieces and only make legal moves. 6) The game logic for winning should follow the rules for winning chess (checkmate). When the Player or AI wins, then a message should appear saying as much, allowing the user to start a new game. If the game results in Stalemate then the message should also say this. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) .SWF form as well as complete source code (in .FLA form) of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform The .swf file should play on Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox running under Windows XP or greater. UNIX support or Linux support is not important.
