Creating User Defined Catagories

am looking for a better browsing option for my customers depending on their individual search priorities. Since the search feature of our shopping cart software are so poorly defined, It would be great to show all the available characteristics on the side of each catagory page. I have found a great example of a company who uses this type of function (please click on one of the features, then on another feature, as this is the real jewel of this modification: http://www.bedroomsets.com/asp/super...temsperpage=40 It is equivilant to a dynamic catagory, or user defined catagories on the fly .
