Hi there,
I am in the process of developing a website built on a content manager from a company named Interactive Tools (<[login to view URL]>) the product I am using specifically is Article Manager 2 (AM2).
The site we are building is a vacation rental site that allows individual property owners to list their properties, through the content manager.
The critical feature of this site ibeing able to search the fields set up in the database editor of AM2.
We have set up various fields in the database editor. The "Create Article" is now more like a "Create a Listing" type form with several fields for users to fill out about their property (e.g. no. of bedrooms, no. of bathrooms, etc.)...Most of the fields are lists not text fields, so that user entries are controllable and searchable.
We are now in the process of trying to set up the search box to search these various fields (e.g. 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom property in a particluar category).
From what we have been told AM2 will only search keywords (although it searches categoryNum). We have been playing around with this, and can get the search to return 2 bedroom properties in a certain categoryNum (our categories are currently set up as Cities)... but if we try to enter another keyword... let's say, 2 bed, 2 bath properties in a particular category, it only takes one keyword into account (i.e. no. of bedrooms or no. of bathrooms but not both).
We have seen several scripts out there using the same Perl programming, that allow "multiple keyword" searches where all the keywords are true. For example, one script we saw uses "&boolean=and" in order for the search to consider all keywords entered.
So this is where we need help - in exteding the search capabilities of AM2.
James
