We need a formal Disaster recovery plan that we can use a reference. It should be like most other companies who have this in place.
We have 4 servers. Data and applicationSqlExhangeTerminal Server. All are HP servers with Raid 5Only one server have 200/400 DLT dape drive. Willing to for online backup to replicate data on different geographical location. We pursue following strategy
**Backup Management:**
Backup is done on daily basis. Primarily one person is responsible for changing the tapes everyday and keeping a tape off site. Here is how the backup set is defined.
**Backup strategy will be as follows:**
a) Daily backup: Backup use five tapes from Monday to Friday. These tapes are reused every week.
b) Monthly backup: At the end of a month data is backed up on monthly tape which is preserved for 12 months.
c) Yearly backup: At the end of the year, data is backed on a yearly tape that will be saved for a year.
Let me know what you have done and some kind of brief preview will help.
