Assistance with jQuery Validation

Hi coders, I just need a bit of help with my validation using jQuery validation plug-in 1.5.2. I have the validation working when the text boxes to be validated are each on a seperate line, with the error msg appearing on the right.. I am now however trying to get two text boxes next to each other, on the same line to validate, (first name and then last name) and need validation msg for first name to appear at the end after last name.. More of a css fix maybe then pure validation.. Sounds simple enough, but just can't work it out.. Would just like someone who know this really well and the error msg css requiredc to help.
