Dbug my Sobel image filter - written but having problems!!

I am writting a circle finding program using a Sobel filter and a Hough transform. However, I'm currently having problems getting my Sobel to work! I've written all the code (which uses a library called IPLib (included in zip file), but image I get out for a horizontal Sobel is wrong. If you don't know, Sobels look like this; (Horizontal) -1 -2 -1 0 0 0 1 2 1 (Vertical) -1 0 1 -2 0 2 -1 0 1 I'm applying them to pgm (greyscale) images which have pixel values between 0 and 255. I believe my problemis coming from the values wrapping over or under these values (thresholding just produces completely black or white images!). I've included my code (circle.c) and a working, but longer version (prog.c) - I need you to get the Sobel functions working so the program writes out a pgm that actually has the edges highlighted in white (like the example output [login to view URL]). My current output is shown in output_HSoble.pgm. Thanks.

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

C code to be run ONLY with GCC. I just require the program to be debugged so please dont re-write - it must still run with IPLib (included).
