**UPDATE:** The project has been live less than an hour and already we have three emails that have not provided the information we asked for. **CMS system without re-inventing the wheel **We would like to further develop an existing CMS system. Must be windows based e.g. ASP or ASP.NET **Minimum requirments to apply for this bid is to:** 1) Have an existing CMS system demo we can look at and log in and use. 2) have AT LEAST 3 years dev. [login to view URL] if you have an OUTSTANDING CMS system. 3) list hourly rate. This is **NOT** to get the cheapest coder. 4) List what part of the World you are in. 5) Do not cut and paste a standard reply unless you have answered our questions. You can see from our feedback that we are very fair and work towards developing a mutally beneficial working relationship. However we can spot "BS" and deal with it accordingly. We know that you cannot give a figure to complete this project so please don't worry about it. Just enter a figure to fill in the fields. You can get a little more detail on what we have to offer at <[login to view URL]>. Yes, it does say that we prefer Eastern European developers but that is because they were the first to show any sign of being good to work with. They have set a high standard that we compare other developers against, so if you are not Eastern European but have a solid development background with a great product for us to look at then please reply. If any of this offends you because of the way it is presented then we apologise. We have to be strict in these matters due to the amount of time wasters we have found. On the positive side, once you are in with ICAM Ltd, it is likely you will prosper with us for a **VERY** long time. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Thursday Oct 5, 2006 8:51:40 AM: Something useful for you. The following information is feedback for everyone that bid on our project and I wanted to say many thanks to all those that bid. I know that it takes time and effort to reply and that failures are more than success so I can understand your frustration as I am in the same situation trying to generate work for my business also. FEEDBACK Although we clearly stated no cut and paste answers, we still received them. These were deleted without consideration. We looked at many CMS demos that mostly ranged from confusing to basic. Of the 15 or so demos we looked at there were 2 that stood out. This was mostly because they were created with the website owner in mind. A modern website owner has many consderations including search engines. A modern CMS must be made to consider these. Features such as site map, page title and description editing are indi cators of this. If you don't have basics such as this then the site will not prosper. No good designing CMS applications for website owners who know no better, you need to find an Internet marketer who wants a site and design one for them, they will know most of what a good CMS application should have. In summary, most demos gave us the ability to add, edit and delete pages but this was not enough. These sorts of websites were being made over 5 years ago. If you are going to present a demo showing your excellent company skills, then your demo should contain excellent, modern features and not the same as every one else. You know in business that to flourish you need to be different and the demos we looked at proved it. 38 replies, 15 demos, 2 that stand out, so in this instance you had a 1 in 19 chance of getting our attention. Now I know that I am hard to please, but thats because I only provide my customers high quality service. So if you can make a demo that fits in with current market demand you will make yourself appealing to a lot more people. Your rating on RAC is a good indicator of past performance but there were a couple that were rated under 2500 and had terrible demos. There is some good news, we have stated very clearly to the company we are going to choose that if perfomance is poor, we are coming back to this list to find a developer to take over and there are at least 3 that I have been impressed with (I have already told you about it if you are one of the three) From my perspective I can only pick a developer based on the demo, the response to my I hope there is something in that which helps you in your business as I sincerely wish you the best of luck in the future.
