Dear Carlos, As per my understanding i need to develop the server communication module in this project. I usually do Java default json class for serialize and deserialize json objects ( which is recommended ). If you want to use GSON library for some reason i will include it. I wrote one helper class for handle the http requests. Flow will be 1. Check the internet connection 2. Select the request method ( GET / POST / etc ). 3. Make the api call with following exception handling ( Timeout exception, Unknown host exception etc ). 4. Listen the http response status and based on that do further operations.

To answer your question regarding the Restful communication I see two solutions: - I could select a RESTful library to do this for me, but in that case we'll have to see whether it's open or not and whether you can agree on this. - The safest solution since you need it to be open is to write it myself. Since backend communication (and only two methods for this project) can be easily done in Android. I would of course use an AsyncTask to make sure the screen is not blocked by the backend communication (and also to be in line with Androids guidelines since it's no longer allowed to do backend communication on the UI-Thread).
