Animal Counting Background Illustration

We are creating a background for a counting illustration set, a very rough sketch of the layout of the background is attached along with an example of an illustration which provides the level of detail we are expecting. The background will include 10 different groups of farmyard animals along the sides, for example where the 1 is on the background, we would like to have 1 horse drawn there, or where the number 9 is we would like to have a group of 9 sheep drawn there. Once we accept the project we will give the list of the animals for each number. We would like the animals to be cute looking, but not cartoony (something similar to the attached image of the duck, with similar detail). On the top and the bottom of the background will be a scene (sky scene up top and grassy/pond scene below) which incorporates shapes. So for instance there will be a kite in the sky which represents a diamond, or a sun which is a circle, etc. We will explain in detail what needs to be illustrated on the top and the bottom as well once we accept the project. The area in the middle can just be a gradation, no design. The size will be approx. 13" (height) x 18" (width).
