Design a Simple Black and White Logo

Need a simple black and white silhouette style logo designed that can be sized up or down, for a T-shirt or wall hanging, or as small as a piece of jewelry. Two words of latin text will be integrated as well, one above and one below the image. ("UTRUM PERFICIET") The logo will consist of an 18th century pistol (modeled from a specific image I have), crossed with a quill pen. The important aspect is the recognizability of the two objects, whether the logo is large or small. The text should be in a low-style serif font. Not something recognizeable that comes with a word processor. Simple and timeless.
