The service we will provide is essentially a marketplace for reselling tickets (and scope for other items such as clothes, electronics, etc), which will be displayed on a live, local and continuously updating map centred on the user. The secondary ticket market has revolutionized the ticket industry and has grown to be a $15 billion industry. TicketMapper can create a gap in this market through the use of the map feature. This is important for paper tickets since buyers like to see where they have to travel to pick up the tickets. It is also important for buyers of electronic tickets (and paper tickets) since it provides an easy to navigate interface and shows not only where tickets are being sold but also bite-sized information about each ticket such as ticket details, price and seller rating. Since we provide a mix between the conventional secondary marketplace for tickets and more local P2P (Person-to-person) marketplace we are able to have much more control over tickets and users; thus enabling safer and fairer resale. The aims for TicketMapper are: • To enable users to easily locate the tickets they want using our powerful filtration system. • To provide a safe environment in which to buy and sell tickets. This will be achieved through a mix of preventative measures such as linking to Facebook accounts, rating systems and introducing collection points throughout each area. • To provide a consistent flow of all tickets available in that particular area. This will be done by not only giving users a system by which they can exchange tickets between themselves, but by also giving authorised sellers the ability to sell directly through TicketMapper. • Provide an ‘easier than easy’ user interface and create a simple yet extremely secure payment system by which users can remove the hassle of counting coins and pay directly over TicketMapper.
