We're looking for a designer to create 6 comps for a new wordpress-based [login to view URL], based on an existing brand and logo (not changing) and related website. (we don't need a radically different design from existing site but creative license is OK)
We have wireframes, notes and written directives and we are looking for someone creative who will take the time to understand what we are trying to achieve with SmartResponse.org.
The re-design/upgrade is for [login to view URL] a project of the nonprofit Disaster Accountability Project, a watchdog of disaster relief and humanitarian aid. The [login to view URL] website will help improve global disaster relief and humanitarian aid by increasing the transparency of NGOs, and improving the information available to the public when disasters happen so they can donate to groups with the greatest capacity to deliver services. If local civil society NGOs can raise funds after disasters, instead of large international NGOs that often have no good reason to raise funds, we will likely see significant improvement in the effectiveness of service delivery of critical relief. We will also see improve resiliency of local civil society organizations and less dependency on larger, outside, international NGOs.
Here's how it will work: We will collect, via surveys, information from local civil society NGOs (and international NGOs) around the world *before disasters* so we can provide immediate data to the public after disasters about which local civil society organizations and larger international NGOs actually have capacity to deliver life-saving relief services.
The design should incorporate Disaster Accountability Project's name and existing logo, use the wireframes for guidance, maintain Disaster Accountability Project ([login to view URL]) branding, but use the lighter color scheme from the wireframes so text is NOT white on a black background.
The design should also be user-friendly and intuitive.
Keep in mind website best practices such as SEO (footer links and headlines), main navigation, and responsive design for mobile.
When submitting your bid, please keep in mind that we are a small nonprofit organization interested in having significant impact. We have a volunteer interface programmer developing the site in wordpress. We are a small NGO seeking to help a lot of people and improve disaster relief globally. Our current designs (for [login to view URL] and [login to view URL]) were done by professional volunteers.
