We need a Packaging design for a range of fishing lures to be sold within Australia, and distributed around the world. We are talking high quality products that need to be well presented, however the packaging design needs to factor in cost effective mass production in China. The Brand is Nomad Sportfishing, and please see the website for our charter business www.nomadsportfishing.com.au. We are making our own range of lures specifically designed to be used on our charter fishing operation, and also sold through our fishing tackle distribution business. We were going to post images of what we liked, but some guidelines are:-
- design must present the lure side on in the packaging with the entire side of the lure visible to the front of the box. The sides and back of the packaging can be whatever takes your imagination.
- space efficient design for shipping, most likely means a rectangular design of some kind.
- lure must be presented inside the package in a way that it cannot move or rattle around(some kind of molded surround for it to sit in)
- design needs to cater for lures from 5cm-40cm
- It needs to stand out on a massive wall of lures and be eye catching but not over the top
- competitors brands to look at and better would be rapala, megabass, luckycraft, Sebile
- Design needs to have ability to hang on a standard retail display pin or slider, just the industry standard slide hole at the top.
- The treble hooks are obviously dangerous and need to be fully contained and concealed within the packaging.
- the packaging background needs to show off the lure colour, so the internal packaging has to be able to highlight a range of lure colours, and not overpower them.
- The lure needs to sit in the package with it's head towards the top.
- People who buy these lures buy them to take on an adventure into wild and exotic places. They buy them because they enjoy being in nature, out on the ocean. Some kind of natural packaging that appeals to this sense of adventure is what we're looking for. We want to make people feel like they have embarked on an adventure just by picking up the package. We have considered possibly a natural cardboard style box, or also considered the white apple style packaging as a theme? A white box would stand out on a wall of lures, or even just a large white side panel. The green side panel used by rapala gives great presence on a large display wall when competing with many different products.
- We need a detailed design with details of how to manufacture in a cost efficient manner. Please assume a lure length of 200mm long by 50mm diameter for starting design, and we can have the manufacturer scale up and down from here.
- we require an editable PSD file and high res jpeg images detailing the design as the finished product.
- what we really want is something that will make people take notice and say "wow, that lure looks awesome" but they are saying this partly because of how well it is displayed.
an image of a similar type of lure to what might go in the package is included. there will be 10-12 colour variations for each model.
