Hi, very interesting project, rarely see archaeology mentioned in Freelancer. Do you have any reference picture on what kind of map (style) you had in mind? What about area of the maps, should they cover a country, city or street level? To clarify on the copyrights, I produce maps with prober GIS-software using only own, manually mapped or opensource data (like OSM). Map style is also custom made for your needs. End result is a map image you will own all the rights and obviously doesn't conflict with others copyright. Map image can be generated in any image format or resolution necessary. If you want a sample map made from some specific area or just want to ask something, happy to talk more in chat. I can also show some of my maps used in publications previously. I am basically an urban planner by profession and I have used google earth and ArcGIS for showing sites for development purpose through maps.

It is a job doable quickly. Must the maps be drawn from google maps? Can we not use any other sources? like openstreetmap for example? I am interested in knowing more about your project.
