?I am looking for an experienced Java game coder to design a very minimal engine that would allow me to navigate simple sprite objects within a very specific 3D-like environment using the arrow keys.
The actual environment or map consists of rooms made up of simple blocks. The rooms are just tiled together to create a larger building.
These blocks SHOULD NOT be painted with the individual grid lines of each block showing (as in bottom picture), but should show the black outlines nicely (as in top picture)
The sprite (and other blocks) must be properly masked when something is moving in front or behind it. This is THE hardest part of the project and if you cannot navigate the character within the top image, please do not bid.
Use the supplied image (DO NOT CHANGE RESOLUTION AND USE TOP IMAGE) to create an engine prototype IN JAVA ONLY.
- Code must be heavily commented so I can understand it
- Code must be kept to an absolute minimum to show the masking part
- Code must be clean. I hate spaghetti code.
I am looking for an elegant solution to learn some tips from a seasoned
java game developer more than anything.
Thanks
