The project is to write and configure loading a minimal QT GUI at startup on a beaglebone black:
a. UI description: single full screen window, with background set as image loaded from eMMC, containing only single button. Pressing this button via the touch screen should toggle on one GPIO output.
b. configuration: Debian linux from [login to view URL] (console version) to automatically display the QT GUI on LCD within 15s of power application or reboot.
Constrains :
- The LCD shall not display login, no kernel messages, no screen flicker, no tux logo,
- The QT GUI shall appear on the LCD after less than 15s (goal 10s)
- The debian OS shall support the following devices and services :
- touchscreen 4.3" LCD cape
- QT embedded (using frame buffer), current version 5.4.
Starting point:
- Beaglebone Black (any revision)
- 4.3" LCD touchscreeen cape (4D systems)
- 2GB Debian images (standalone and flasher) from [login to view URL] (console versions) so as to be compatible with all beaglebone versions up to rev C
Deliverables :
- Standalone bootable SD-card image file
- Flasher SD-card image to flash eMMC
- A step-by-step procedure to recreate the SD-card image file from scratch.
- A step-by-step procedure to setup a development / debug machine, assuming a freshly installed ubuntu x64 system (including remote deployment and debug settings for ethernet debugging)
