Hello: I am perfect for this project. I can design one generic main controller with all WiFi, Ethernet and GPRS capabilities. Or three kinds of main controller with the WiFi/Ethernet/GPRS. I have some queries if you consider: 1. How the sensors are connected to the main controller? Is it on same board ? Or Is it connected via cable (how long?). Or wireless (like zigbee or other wireless technology?). 2. You will take this project to production level? If yes how many you will make? This will determines the cost. Dear Sir, I can help you with your project. But need some clarification. Is light detector that you want to use digital or analgue? And it will be better if you draw simple diagramm. I can propose custom solution without arduino and other systems. It will be much more cheap if you want to produce mass of such controllers.

As you want only up to 250 sensors per location, they can be connected to a central mini server using wifi. The mini server will be a Raspberry Pi (we can use the new RPi Zero). Then trough usb adapators (Wifi, ethernet, 3G) select the connectivity type because they are more common an cheaper than the shields. Sensors --- > Rpi (proxy) --- > Main server In the spec files you never mention if each sensor will be independent with its own microcontroller or there will be several sensors connected to a single microcontroller. But in both cases not more than 250 sensors. Also you forgot to specify the area in which those sensors will be spread. As the RPi will work as a proxy between the sensors and the main server you can think on using https or any other protocol like MQTT (support user:password and encryption). The MQTT is a small protocol suitable for places with unreliable and slow connections and support QoS. You can lookup for the mosquitto broker that support about 60000 simultaneous connections or the emqtt, they made some test in which they were able to manage up to 1e6 connections. I think this is scalable.

Hello, I can provide a solution with a simple custom board with a controller to read the information from the sensors. I would like to know how the information is recived in order to create a solution that meets every requirement. Depending on the requirement of each place we can have a board that can support both wifi or gsm in order to send the information to you servers.
