We have an old fashioned MS access database that runs on Office 7. It is currently unclear if it runs on the latest version of office. We need to move this across to an Apple Mac. We need to work out what application on the Mac is the most suitable to run it. We do not want to lose any functionality. Once this has been worked out, we need to export the data from Access, if possible or this is not possible re-input all the entries from Access to the new Mac application. There are about 3000 data entries. As well as the data transfer, we need various templates (invoice, quotation etc.) We will pay 25% up front and the balance on completion of the project and after checking all functionality. Your proposal will need to include a time scale, a overall fee and a suggestion of which Mac software we should be using and why. We would also like to hear a little bit about your strategy for transferring. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Thanks.

Hi - I propose to use Filemaker Pro 12 for Mac to migrate your MS Access. What Filemaker pro 12 offers - it is a superior product from Apple and it has all the database functionalities like tables/layouts/reports/pdfs creation etc., Data migration strategy - we can migrate from ms access to filemaker pro with export / import mechanisms. I shall take the ownership of that. License - yes, you need to buy the license to buy/use filemaker 12, and bid doesnt cover that. You have do it yourself. Time - 20 days. This is just an estimate. it might be less or more depends on the complexity of your ms access. I dont have the visibility of your application yet. Cost - 450 GBP. This is just an estimate. it might be less or more depends on complexity. I live in UK now and it gives you flexibility in terms of timezone. What I need from you? - pl share the access application and I can check and validate my time/cost estimate. regards Prem

Hi, I'm an experienced VB and Vb.NET database programmer. I could develop this application in Real Studio, which is a multi-platform development environment based on VB. You don't need to convert your MS Access Database in this method. The application could run on Mac. Time of completion depends on the complexity of the application and variety of templates. Please provide a sample of the database for further analysis.

A query. For MS Access to migrate to Mac, when you want to use the data on a computer that does not have MAC then have the same problem. it better not make things right and makes its multiplatform system with data online so you can access from any computer with access credentials. Microsoft Access provides Web Services version for you to conlaborar data entry via WEB. can also migrate to MySQL tables and connect with ODBC and create a system in PHP or Any other system that supports MYSQL Coneciones. I think the platform is the solution to your problems. Think about it.
