I am an editor, proofer, researcher and avid user of websites, including Amazon and I have excellent English skills.
I have a sense of humor and fun, and enjoy the quirky as well as understanding the value of a serious gift if that is what is required. In profiling 12 gifts I would try to find a selection that includes fun, quirky, practical, sentimental as well as covering a range of prices.
For example, gifts for a flute player could include a subscription to Flute Talk (a magazine), A Flute in My Refrigerator (an autobiography of a flutist), a flute charm/pendant, or a flute player lithograph, to name a few. Architecture students might enjoy Archidoodle activity book, a LEGO Architecture Studio playset, an architecture mug, a DVD such as 10 Buildings That Changed America, a blueprint paperweight or a miniature model of a drafting table. All of these products are currently available on Amazon.com.
My research and editing experience has allowed me to develop the ability to read an article and summarize in two-three sentences, a skill required for your project. I have wide ranging experience, and colleagues or friends, in fields of education, health, psychology, journalism, IT, finance, art/design, law, etc. This broad range of knowledge will enable me to understand the target profile and find unusual and unique gifts to match.
I look forward to working with you on this project
