Complete and Existing C#/.NET LMS Web Application

We have an application that is in the final stages of being completed, but still needs lots of work. We were working with a company that has decided to abandon the project. We’re hoping that you can pick up where they left off. The particulars of the project are: • Language: C# / .Net • DB: Microsoft SQL (2010) • Documentation: There’s no real documentation, but we will have “limited” access to ask the previous programmer questions about the code. • Modules: There are 3 main areas to the application plus 1 minor area. The minor area may need to be skipped at this time to get the application launched for use. 1. 1 of the main areas is a single module. This would be our “trainee course launching” module. It’s more or less a singular function is to launch our computer based training courses. This area needs to be tested for operability to determine if it’s complete or not The 2 remaining areas have modules that tie functions together. 2. 1 area we’re calling “administrative”. The module titles for this area are: • Home Dashboard – Main landing page that is specific to a user’s defined role. May display “today’s” training or statistical information about application use. • Clients – Complete listing of all our clients. Allows for filtering. Allows access to editing or adding a new client (depending on user permissions) This module is strictly only for SCTMC employees • Courses – Complete of courses offered by us. Allows for filtering. Allows access to editing or adding a new courses (depending on user permissions). This module is strictly only for SCTMC employees • Users - Complete of “administrative users”. Allows for filtering. Allows access to editing or adding a new users. This module is strictly only for SCTMC employees • Trainees - Complete of Trainees. Allows for filtering. Allows access to editing or adding a new trainees. This module is similar to the clients version, but with access to the entire database. • Security – This module defines administrative users account permissions. This module is strictly only for SCTMC employees • Configuration – This module defines application parameters such as Room numbers, Hours of Operation, Holidays and so on. This module is strictly only for SCTMC employees • Reschedule – This module is used to reschedule trainees for course they either failed or missed taking. This module is strictly only for SCTMC employees • Reports – Generates various reports. A similar module exists for clients All the above modules are available to SCTMC employees based on their role in our organization (in other words, User Permissions as defined in USER & SECURITY modules.) 3. The other area we’re calling “client”. The module titles for this area are: • View Trainees – This allows for the client user to view trainees specifically attached to their organization. They are not allowed to view all trainees in our database (important feature) • Users – This is a list of authorized users for the client organization to use our system to view trainees, schedule them for course, or perform other related tasks. • Schedule Trainee – This module will allow the client user to schedule one or more trainees for training. • Reschedule – this will allow the client user to reschedule their trainees (only their trainees, not all scheduled) for training on another day. • Reports – offers a limited set of reports dependent on the client’s subscriber privileges. All the above modules are available to client users based on their security permissions in that organization. • Completeness: The project is probably about 90-95% complete (save bug issues).
