Arduino robot arm and laser engraver program

I need a program written. I have a small laser engraver and and an arduino controlled robot arm. I need the program written so that after the robot arm places a small item on the table it triggers my laser engraver to run automatically and engrave. Arduino arm completes cycle ---> engraver starts ---> Arduino arm completes cycle ---> engraver starts. It will end up being a fairly complex program as I will need to be able to program it to que tasks. So engrave 'Chris' twenty times then engrave 'bob' six times. If that makes sense? The laser engraver is the 'benbox' or 'fancy laser engraver v2'. The arduino robot arm is OWI Robotic Edge Arm and has feedback so it knows it's own position.
