Convert CppUnit Tests to Modern C++ Unit Test Framework

I have several hundred CppUnit tests that are used in a training course. I am having trouble getting these to run with latest versions of Visual Studio. Rather than fix them, I would like to convert them to CppUTest, a more modern C/C++ unit testing framework.
I have the almost exactly the same tests in C# and Java that can be run and used for determining the expected output of each test. Because these tests are for training purposes, some of them deliberately fail and the student is expected to fix them to make them pass or more clearly describe the cause of the failure.
The JUnit tests have meta-tests that describe exactly what the result of running each test should be. For bonus $, implement a meta-testing framework for running all the CppUTest tests and checking that their results match the expected results (we can either write meta-tests like the JUnit or we could read the test names and expected results from an XML file.)
