We are a small non-profit works with children with autism and teaches them safety in their everyday lives. We will lose our funding unless we come up with a affordable solution to comply with the American Disabilities Act. I think I have that solution, but I need someone to do a rendering, so I can submit the concept for approval. Here is what I am trying to do:
My research confirms that stair lifts around around $20,000. At first I did not think a vertical lift was an option, because next to that stairwell are the stairs leading down to the basement. I came up with what might be an more affordable solution. The vestibule stairway is over 6' wide. ADA requires hallways to be 3' wide and fire code requires stairways to be 27" with the railing. Why can't we purchase a vertical lift at the cost of about $4500.00 and then build a level gangway against the right wall looking down the stairs, that is 3' wide that goes from the top of the lift to the main floor. We can do it so the pillars and railing match the other ones that are currently in place. We are only talking 5 stairs. This leaves enough stairwell to satisfy fire code. This whole project would be under $8000 as compared to $20,000.
There is no budget for any of this so we will have ot seek donations to fund this, so please keep thsi in mind when biding the project.
Dear Sir/Madam
We are very interested in your job post. Having to design something as an innovative solution is something we have tackled in the past and we are confident that we can produce renders of photorealistic quality to fully express your idea.
Feel free to browse our portfolio where we demonstrate the quality of work that can be produced.
Thank you for your time and do not hesitate to ask for more information.
Best Regards
