Access/Convert

I have a large number of music files downloaded with a long time monthly Virgin Music account. Now I cannot play any of these songs. I now have Apple's service and a large number of Apple music downloaded which play fine. I have searched from some service or software to resolve this and allow me access to the music. I need someone to find me a way to access or convert this music if it is possible, I have heard setting up a napster account would work which I did and got no where.
