Guidelines for Research Paper(s) Based Assignments 1. Get the research paper assigned to you from the course teacher(s). You may alternatively download it from [login to view URL] Read the research paper as many times as necessary to understand the following about the study presented in the research paper: (a) Objective (What?) (b) Need/ justification for the study (Why?) (c) Approach (es)/ Method(s)/Tool(s) used in the study (How?) Carefully note the assumption(s) made in the study. (d) Results and Conclusion(s) (Findings) If necessary, you should also read important cross-reference(s) of the paper to understand various relevant linkages and background information. If possible, (and wherever applicable) make some calculations to see if you can replicate the study (and its results). 2. Find out which unrealistic assumptions have been made in the study (if any). 3. Also find out any gap(s) and limitation(s) of the study. 4. Prepare a write-up covering all the points (1 to 3) mentioned above. Please write the report in your own words and do not copy the research paper. Appropriate explanatory schematic(s) and flow chart(s) etc. can be prepared and included in the write up to present and explain the methodology, findings and conclusions of the study. 5.
