Landscape design is a unique field because it can be considered both a design and art tradition, in the same vein as architecture in general. In modern times, the field is focused more than ever on sustainability, since landscape design actually incorporates plant life into its aesthetics. In this manner, the landscape designer must have knowledge in various areas, from urban planning, to horticulture, to artistic composition, and more.
Landscape design can improve architecture in general when it comes to cities, as it is integral when it comes to sewage/draining, irrigation, construction, and property security, as well. There are many subsets of the field, where landscape designers may focus more on the gardening aspect of the sector, or the urban planning aspect of the sector, for example.

Ultimately, landscape design is a very collaborative field, which gives individual freelancers so much range in terms of work. For example, they might collaborate with architects on an exotic resort, or might design a sculpture garden for a city project, for example. Whether it is in combination with engineers, architects, surveyors, or botanists; there is no denying the fact that how humans design their landscape can have profound affects on the aesthetics and overall culture of a society, similar to the way that architecture can affect productivity and morale.
I’ve got a 17x25 space that I’d like to turn into entertainment space/man cave and also function as a home office. I’d also like to add a covered and screened in deck off the back that contains an outdoor kitchen, dining space, fire place, and living area.
I have a big back yard that is pretty plain. We have a limited budget so we would like to design and then cost it out over multiple years as well as do a lot ourselves if we can. We would like an above ground pool, hottub, surrounding deck, grass area for lawn bowling, sitting and dining area on the patio kitchen area including bbq and pizza oven, large swing bed under 2nd floor patio, fire pit and a pavilion over the living/dining area.
I have an idea of what I want but would like professional input and want VERY LOW MAINTENANCE! - Beach on the east side of the house in the shallow lake but within view - Chicken coop & Beehive either by the barn or across the shallow part of the lake(probably here)on the south end - Raised garden by the wc unit next to the house just west of the beach - Fire pit either near the beach or at the point b/w deep and shallow water - If adding vegetation, then please use natural to Kansas plants as I want this to be very low maintenance. - Thinking of making gravel RV parking for boondocking on the south end by the road with another beach / fire pit there Absolutely want this to be as hands free and low maintenance as possible!
I plan to acquire 50+ Acres of undeveloped land for development and make it into smaller acreages for selling purposes. Looking for remote/on-site survey, feasibility study, suitable ideas, proposals, project plan with details of Return on Investment (ROI), ideal land developers, etc. from real estate experts.
