However if i send directly from my main mailserver (NOT using php sendmail) i.e i log on to and send there (it obviously uses a different sending system maybe smtp i dont know) then i DO RECEIVE the FAILED delivery reports u will have seen the classic MAIL DELIVERY SYSTEM. We are setting up a Dovecot mailserver with Mail Crypt plugin for email encryption. We have set up per-user encryption, emails are getting encrypted, can be sent and received. However, webmail (we use SOGO) is unable to decrypt emails. We suspect that there is an issue with the passwords, respectively they are not being passed to webmail or this is being done incorrectly. We have a very small docker mailserver (like 10 accounts) running on Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS for some years. Everything works fine but some clients (Outlook, Apple Mail on MacOs) can't open encrypted connections to the postfix SMTP server. Other clients (Apple Mail IOS, Thunderbird) work fine. Encrypted IMAP works fine with every client on every platform. We suspect that the reason some clients can not connect lies somewhere in the TLS configuration.
